OUR REFRESHINGLY HUMAN
After discovering a deep passion for helping others, Cassandra earned a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Her philosophical approach toward successful recovery, from both substance abuse and other mental health illnesses, is centered around trauma-informed care. She is EMDRIA approved EMDR trained and utilizes evidenced based modalities including Internal Family Systems and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Before joining Fountain Hills Recovery, Cassandra’s work history includes experience in both inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities and extensive experience in equine-assisted therapy. Horses have taught her that anyone can develop a since of trust by interacting animals like horses and through those interactions one can begin gain a sense of safety which fosters and encourages trust, vulnerability, and effective communication. Cassandra believes the path to successfully changing destructive life patterns is to identify and treat past trauma by providing a holistic approach using a myriad of interventions that treat the mind, body, and spirit.
Outside of her career, Cassandra is a mother to two young men and has a history competing in triathlons including Ironman Arizona. Cassandra uses her understanding of exercise, trauma, equine therapy, and her own personal journey in order to offer clients an integrative and holistic approach toward healing.
